How do I migrate Taco Data?

If you are moving from Slack to Microsoft Teams, or vice-versa, you might want to have the same data from the previous platform available in the new one. Migrating taco data is not a user-facing option right now, so it is something our HeyTaco team can help with.

We can currently migrate all taco balances (given, received, redeemable), but are not able to migrate rewards or history of taco messages.

In order for your taco data to be migrated, please help us by going through the following steps:

1. Download Taco Data from your current platform just so you have a record of everything prior to the migration.
2. Add HeyTaco to your new platform (you can do so directly on our website)
3. Start giving tacos to people - in order for us to migrate the data, every person from the previous platform needs to have a HeyTaco account in the new platform. HeyTaco accounts are created when people give or receive their first taco. When we migrate the data, we would simply add it to the existing taco balances in the new platform.
4. Confirm that everyone has a user account. You can do so on the Admin dashboard, People page.
5. Reach out to us and we will migrate the data within a week.
