Adding Funding for Gift Cards

In order to add gift cards to your HeyTaco for Slack Taco Shop, you will need to pre-fund your account. 


You can add funding to your account on the Admin โ†’ Gift Cards page. There you can also view your funding history, as well as download invoices and receipts. 


To add funds, click the โ€˜Add Fundsโ€™ button. 


Funding will be charged to the credit card on file associated with your HeyTaco subscription.

Once added, your funds will be available automatically, and you will be able to see your Available Balance. 

As people redeem gift cards, your balance will be deducted automatically and gift cards will be delivered directly to your employeesโ€™ email address associated with their HeyTaco (and Slack) account. All funding and gift card charges are processed in USD, regardless of the currency of the gift card being issued. The exchange rate is determined by our Gift Card API provider at the time of gift card being redeemed. 


What happens when I run out of funds? 

If your Available Balance goes to $0, your employees will not be able to purchase gift cards. You will never run a negative balance. If you wish to avoid running out of funds, you can set โ€˜Low Balance Alertโ€™ threshold notifications in your User Settings. You will receive an email when your Available Balance goes below the threshold. 



What happens if I want to stop using gift cards, but have money left on my account? 

Your unused Available Balance will be refunded. Please reach out to us to request a refund.
